We had an enjoyable time at the family Easter campout.
We all missed those of you who weren't there! The weather was some of the best we have had yet at the campout. We camped at Jimmy and Debbie's Farm. Allen and Cindy, Lois and Bob, Austin, Caiden, Colton, Weston, Gavin, Makenna, Stacy, Lisa, Spencer, Dallin, Leah, Shannell, Rachelle, Sydnie, Kelsie, Taylor, Hunter, Connor, Jaymes, Jaycob, Victoria, Olivia, and Breanne all started the campout on Thursday. It was
90 degrees in the day and
cooled down in the evening, it was beautiful weather! The kids made t-shirts by collecting pieces of nature (leaves, sticks, flowers, etc...) placing them on T-shirts and bleaching around them. This turned out to be a really fun project! Friday night, Kim and Linda and Family, Brent and Linell and Family, Weston and Carol, Rex and Kelli, Jimmy and Debbie, Travis and Jae, Bradley and Sheena, Michelle and Adam, Robert and Melissa and Girls and Melissas Mom and Grandpa and Grandma and Jason (hope I haven't left anyone out) all joined us. Grandpa and Grandma made their famous
Fry Bread and Brent and Linell made
homemade Rootbeer. We had a campfire and Grandpa talked about the concern of how dry Missouri is and taught us about having faith and putting it to work. He told of a time when Darwin and Rosalee really needed rain and they saw a small rain cloud way off. Rosalee said maybe we ought to pray that it will bring us rain. Darwin said asked Rosalee to say the prayer. During the prayer the cloud came and passed over them and left. After her prayer they went outside and the cloud came back and rained. Grandpa then said family prayer and asked for rain. In the middle of the night it started to
RAIN!!! Jason Freeze woke us all up at 4:30 am to let each tent know that it was raining . It down-poured just as we started cooking breakfast. We held tarps over the stoves and finished it up. The rest of the day turned out nice. We dyed eggs, played games, had a ham dinner for lunch, and had an Easter egg hunt. Kelsie found an egg with a baby snake in it :) The kids enjoyed the River most of the time, canoeing, swimming, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, finding Frogs, tadpoles, minnows, snakes, and turtles. Bob and Robert helped the kids make a mud slide off of the bank. Jaymes climbed up a tree and tied up a rope swing, It was a real hit! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!! I will try to post more pictures later.
